First of all one must determine the skin type before deciding the right kind of combination for one’s skin. Then

To get the best results from your tanning, moisturize the skin before applying the tanning oil. This is not a way of keeping the skin moist by the procedure that will help the skin tan best.
The look on the skin surface during the process and even later, is absolutely necessary particularly if one is trying the tan effect for the first time. A red and pink tint is not a tanning effect but one of sunburn and one must be wary of such condition. The only way to avoid such blemishes is to use the proper equipment and in a controlled way.
The effects of tanning are thus not an immediate thing. Hours later it can come to the surface and therefore, it is necessary that you follow the application rules carefully in order to get the best results.
